The TI 19U team had a relatively quiet month of November, but a very productive one. The girls only played four games during the month, but came out with a record of 3-0-1.
The month began with a game against the Chill 19U team. Despite a 6-1 disadvantage in power plays, TI controlled the action at both ends of the rink and turned in a 7-0 victory. Alexi Bloom had an easy day at the office, stopping all eight shots to record the shutout. Jillian Kirchner led the scoring with a hat trick, and Katie Osikowicz had two goals.
The next day, the 19’s traveled to Madison to play a league game against the Capitols. Madison capitalized on a first period power play, but then TI scored three times in the second en route to a 5-2 win. Kerry Mullins led the scoring with two goals. Ryann McCarthy stopped 14 of 16 shots in net.
The following weekend brought a league match with the Wisconsin Wild. This game turned out to be about as even as one could expect in a match up. The final score was 1-1. Shots on goal were 20-19 in favor of the Wild, and each team’s goal was scored at even strength. Kirchner scored for TI, and Bloom stopped 19 of 20 shots.
The final game of the month was a rematch with the Chill 19U. The Chill had revenge on their minds, but TI took control early and never let up, winning by the final of 7-0. Leading the scoring parade were Kirchner (4 goals), Jill Korbas, and Courtney Bean (2 goals). McCarthy stopped all ten Chill shots.
TI 19U look forward to a busy December. They have a game with the Wild on the 4th, a league showcase the weekend of the 17th, and a trip to the Polar Bear between the holidays.
