The 12U girls started their NIHL season in Tier I-Silver Division the first week on November. They have played 5 games and are 3-1-1 and are off to a great start. Their first game was against the Falcons and they tied 1-1. The girls played well but surely missed Giovanna Senese, who had had knee surgery that morning. They are so happy that she will be ready to re-join the team in December.
In their second NIHL game they played the Sabres and lost 3-2. Then they played the Redwings in back to back games; they won games, 6-0 and 3-1. On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the girls played the Joliet Jaguars and won 3-1. The girls are on a roll! The girls had the Thanksgiving holiday off and are anxious to get back on the ice.
On December 1st the girls headed for the United Center to watch the USA Women's Hockey Team meet the Canadians. The girls all had a great time.
The 12U's next game is scheduled for Sunday, December 4th against the Madison Capitols. Although it is a practice game, it will be nice to see them on the ice again! In the first weeks of December, the girls have 4 NIHL games. They will face the Huskies, Rockford (twice) and the Vikings. On December 26th the 12U's head to Connecticut for the Polar Bear Tournament. Many of the returning 12U's are looking forward to playing in that great tournament again. This year they hope to bring home some hardware!!
Our team is so excited to announce that our goalie Stephanie Lemke, is a big sister again. Her brother Daniel was born the day after Thanksgiving. Congratulations to Steph and her family from the 12U's!
