14U#1's Off To A Good Start

The 14U#1 team is off to an impressive start during the early 04-05 season. The 14's, competing both in the MWEHL (Midwest Elite Hockey League) and NIHL (Northern Illinois Hockey League) Bantam Youth Silver Division will endure a nearly 70 game schedule this season. The 14U's have already compiled an overall record of 14-4-1.

The girls are undefeated in the MWEHL with a 7-0 record. Erin Callahan has been called upon to carry the load in the nets as Kelly Shutter remains sidelined with a minor injury. Callahan collected three consecutive shutouts in the initial showcase weekend. She is also the top rated MWEHL goaltender with a GAA of 1.14. The 14's also show that they could put the pucks in the net as well as close the door on opponents. TI has 5 players in  the top 25 scorers of the league. Leading all scorers are Ashley Motherwell and Nicole Germaine followed closely by line mate Lauren Jones. Hayley Williams and Jessica Patrone follow as the potent TI offense has lit the lamp 32 times while only allowing 8 goals against.

The 14's have also done exceptionally well in the NIHL Silver division,  finishing the seeding round with a record of 5-3-0.

The 14's have done well in spite of two sidelined injured players, Paige Hoppie and Kelly Shutter. Both girls are expected to take the ice in the near future. The strong defense anchored by Jackie Otto, Nicole Camardo, Maggie Brennolt, Kathy Shei and Alyssa Spratte have been able to allow forwards the opportunity to play aggressively in the attack zone.

Jackie Camardo, Emma Rambo and Erin Bradarich have been exceptional in transition moving the puck up the ice aggressively, capitalizing on outstanding team speed.

The TI Girls will travel to Madison, Wisconsin in mid November to take on the Madison Capitals, Colorado Select and Little Caesars.

The 14's will also head to Connecticut to compete in the prestigious Connecticut Polar Bear Tournament over the winter holidays.
