Team Illinois took to the road and the air for the Faribault Minnesota showcase weekend November 21-23. Arriving Friday, the TI 19Us took to the ice against the Madison Capitals. In a close game Team Illinois prevailed with a 3-2 victory. Goals were provided by Jill Kirchner (2) and Lexie Kaknes. Assists came from Sonja Novak, Olivia Antognoli, Allie Morrow and Karen Levin. Team Illinois had 14 shots on goal vs. 20 by the Madison team.

In the first of two games on Saturday, Team Illinois traveled an hour north to St. Paul to take on the Minnesota Thoroughbreds. This was a rematch of their meeting at the Madison Showcase Weekend (Nov 7-9) in which TI lost 5-2. In the game on Nov 22nd, TI kept it close, however in the end, TI left with a 2-0 loss in spite of both teams having 14 shots on goal.

Later that night back in Faribault, TI faced the home team from Shattuck St. Mary's. Earlier in November TI took a tough 6-0 lose against this same team. Learning a few things from the earlier game against Shattuck St. Mary's, TI played a much improved defensive game. In the end though, TI lost 2-0. Shots on goal for TI was 12, while SSM had 16.

Sunday morning was a rematch against the Madison Capitals. TI got back on track scoring with goals from Karen Levin and Lexie Kaknes, and assists from Sonja Novak, Lexie Kaknes, Samantha Ullrich and Courtney Bean. Madison's 24 shots on goal proved too much and TI lost the rematch 3-2. While Team Illinois came away with one victory, a much improved defensive showing kept them in every game.

Team Illinois 19Us have upcoming games against the Wisconsin Wild, Orland Park Chill, Madison Capitals and TI Alumni before they travel to the Connecticut Polar Bear Tournament December 27-30.
